Jeremy McClain, now director of athletics at Southern Miss, threw one of the best curveballs ever tossed from the mound at Delta State University.
The Houlka, Mississippi, native finished his career as an All-American pitcher before entering the world of athletic administration. Following five seasons in the professional ranks of baseball, the road would lead back to the Mississippi Delta to pursue his career.
The road to Hattiesburg had stops at Delta State and Troy as the leader of its athletic program. Valuable experience would lend McClain in making one of the biggest decisions in USM athletics history.
