Southern Miss bounced back from a 30-6 loss to Rice last weekend with a 24-13 win over North Alabama Saturday at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
Saturday marked the third-consecutive game the Golden Eagles didn't have senior quarterback Jack Abraham behind center for a majority of the day. Abraham missed the Liberty game Oct. 24 due to being quarantined. In his return last week, he took a hard hit in the first half and hasn't played since.
Backup quarterback Tate Whatley was also unavailable for a second-consecutive game after taking a hard hit at Liberty.
With dual-threat Trey Lowe in the gun for Southern Miss, the running game was front and center for the Golden Eagle offense.
