HATTIESBURG - Southern Miss’ Reed Green Coliseum remains a house of horrors for UTEP.
And Miners coach Tim Floyd, a Hattiesburg native whose father coached the Golden Eagles, continues to struggle at one of his old haunts.
UTEP led by as many as 15 points in the first half but Southern Miss got hot from long range, hitting a dozen 3-pointers to help secure a 71-58 victory. The Miners, who blew a 24-point second half lead at Reed Green Coliseum last season, haven’t won in Hattiesburg since 2010. In addition, UTEP has lost five of its last six and moves to 0-6 on the road this season.
