After a 7-2 win against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on April 26, No. 14 Southern Miss (31-14, 15-6) took to the road for a three game series against No. 17 Florida Atlantic (30-12, 14-7). The Golden Eagles fell short in their efforts, losing the series 2-1.
With the C-USA series loss, Southern Miss is currently tied with Rice for first place in the conference.
Game one started just like the Golden Eagles wanted it to. In the top of the first inning, Dylan Burdeaux and Jake Sandlin both managed to get on base.
