HATTIESBURG - In its final home contest before the Christmas holiday, Southern Miss was on the receiving end of a thrashing at the hands of Georgia State.
The Panthers systematically and methodically picked the Golden Eagles apart Saturday at Reed Green Coliseum en route to a 66-46 victory. The loss snaps Southern Miss’ brief two-game win streak and drops Doc Sadler’s club to 2-7 this season.
Georgia State, which never trailed, improves to 6-2.
Southern Miss was in a giving mood from the outset, falling behind 23-3 before hitting its first field goal more than 12 minutes into the proceedings.
