Eric Booth sounds ready for his first season with the Collins football team.
“I can still get down in a 3-point stance,” he said with a laugh Monday. “I don’t mind staying in shape and doing some things with the kids. I can run the toss. I can run the dive.”
His playing days are over, but Booth still seems to have the same passion and enthusiasm he was known for when he led the nation in kickoff returns in 1997 with an average of 34.8 yards per return with two touchdowns for Southern Miss.
It’s that kind of attitude that will likely serve Booth well in his new role.
