Both Southern Miss and Arkansas State come into their football matchup Saturday (6 p.m, ESPN+) at M.M Roberts Stadium in the second season under head coaches entrusted to execute program-wide rebuilds.
Both are struggling mightily on one side of the football, with the Golden Eagles (2-3, 0-1 Sun Belt Conference) looking as sluggish on offense as the Red Wolves (2-4, 1-2) do porous on defense.
And both are coming off let-down performances in Week 6, needing a win to jumpstart the positive vibes and motor on toward progress once more.
"We got our whole season in front of us," USM coach Will Hall said.
