John Wozniak is not surprised that UTSA has the most improved defense in Conference USA.
For two seasons, Southern Miss’ receivers coach and his position group went head-to-head against the Golden Eagles’ safeties and their position coach, Pete Golding, every day in practice. Golding, the Roadrunners’ first-year defensive coordinator, and Wozniak will get reacquainted at 11 a.m. Saturday when Southern Miss and UTSA meet at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
“We’ll have our hands full,” Wozniak said. “But I’m looking forward to it. It’ll be good to see (Golding) and good to compete against him again.
