PHILADELPHIA – Jarquez Hunter is headed to The Plains.
Neshoba Central High School's star running back signed with Auburn on Friday morning.
Hunter, the No. 1 running back in Mississippi according to 247Sports Composite Rankings, held offers from in-state schools Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Jackson State in addition to Memphis, Iowa and others.
Hunter was named a 2020 Dandy Dozen Selection after amassing over 3,000 all purpose yards as a junior. He ran for 1,687 yards and 22 touchdowns in just eight games as a senior.
Signing with an SEC West power like Auburn was the culmination of a high school career that was as prolific as any in recent history for a Magnolia State tailback.
