The Conference USA is taking a cue from the NCAA and SEC by prohibiting all postseason play from taking place in Mississippi until the Confederate emblem is removed from Mississippi's flag.
"The C-USA's board of directors approved the prohibition of all conference championship events in the state of Mississippi until the Confederate emblem is removed from the state flag," the Conference USA said in a statement released Monday.
Mississippi's flag includes an emblem borrowed from the Confederate battle flag. Mississippi is the only state in the country that still uses said image on its flag.
