BILOXI — Southern Miss was three outs from punching its ticket to the Conference USA tournament championship game.
Three outs was all that stood between the Golden Eagles and a third consecutive shot at the tournament crown. But Charlotte, who met with a hearty helping of heartbreak at the hands of Scott Berry’s team at last year’s tournament, drew a line in the sand and Tommy Bullock sent the 49ers home 7-4 winners at MGM Park.
