HATTIESBURG - Doc Sadler used the week leading up Thursday’s home game against Charlotte in search of more offense.
His Southern Miss squad made sure it was time well spent.
Facing Charlotte at Reed Green Coliseum in the Golden Eagles’ first home Conference USA contest, Sadler’s club fell behind early before catching fire mid-way through the first half. But the 49ers found their stroke again in the second half and pulled away late for a 82-76 victory.
Southern Miss shot 50 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from beyond the 3-point line. It wasn’t enough, though, as the Eagles fell to 3-10 overall this season and 0-2 in Conference USA action.
