PEARL - Mississippi State snapped Southern Miss’ eight-game winning streak against SEC competition with a 13-5 victory Tuesday at Trustmark Park.
Nathaniel Lowe and Ryan Gridley combined to finish 6-for-9 at the plate with five RBIs for the Bulldogs. No. 12 Mississippi State, the home team on the scoreboard, did the majority of its damage in clutch situations. John Cohen’s squad scored nine two-out runs in a game that lasted just shy of four hours.
The Bulldogs improve to 18-7-1 record, while the Golden Eagles fall to a 19-7 overall mark.
“Our two-out hitting tonight was great,” said Cohen.
