Trace Clopton doesn’t remember when it was. Nor can he recall Southern Miss’ opponent that day.
But the consensus three-star Brookhaven High offensive lineman knows the first college football game he ever attended was at the Golden Eagles’ M.M. Roberts Stadium. Such a thing is forgivable. After all, he was far too young to recall such details.
Clopton will remember the first college football game he will play in, which — if all goes according to plan — will be in Hattiesburg at M.M. Roberts Stadium. Clopton, whose father, Tommy, worked as an equipment manager at Southern Miss from 1995-97 and is also the head coach at Brookhaven, verbally committed to the Golden Eagles Sunday.
