Shortly after winning its third straight home game Thursday, Southern Miss closed the book on North Texas and shifted its focus toward Rice.
The Golden Eagles (6-12, 3-3 C-USA) and Owls (12-7, 2-4) will tip off at 4 p.m. Saturday at Reed Green Coliseum.
Here are three things to watch during the game.
Plenty of points
Rice boasts the league’s second-highest scoring offense at 82.8 points per game. Only slightly have the Owls backed off that pace since C-USA play began, notching a scoring average of 78 in those six games.
Mike Rhoades’ team, 5-5 in its last 10 games, is led by Egor Koulechov who is second in the league with 19.
