Anthony Beane attempts a shot during the Salukis' 66-60 loss to Northern Iowa on Friday during the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in St. Louis.
He is the first SIU player to receive first-team honors from the NABC since Jamaal Tatum in 2007.
Four other members of the Missouri Valley Conference were named to the first team with Beane. Wichita State seniors Fred Van Vleet, Ron Baker and Evansville seniors Egidijus Mockevicius, D.J. Balentine were all first-team all-district players.
Beane ended his career third on SIU all-time scoring list with 1,917 points and tied for the all-time record in points scored in SIU Arena (885).
