Chelsea's co-owner Todd Boehly on Thursday night shrugged off the fan protests which preceded their last fixture at Stamford Bridge as he insisted strikers are not simply for sale in the 'grocery store'.
Supporters showed their anger before Tuesday's 4-0 win over Southampton and that included one throwing dollar bills in front of a banner aimed at Boehly. As the face of the original May 2022 takeover, the American billionaire was the biggest target during those demonstrations.
Boehly also used his address in London to play down rumours of a rift between him and his fellow owners Clearlake Capital, who are led by Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano, though declined to confirm that the ownership set-up will remain the same this time next year when asked directly.
