Sparta Prague 1-0 Southampton: Saints' Europa League qualification hopes remain in their own hands

Southampton's hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa League remain in their own hands, despite their 1-0 loss away at Sparta Prague.

Costa Nhamoinesu's goal after just 11 minutes was enough for the hosts to secure victory, which in turn means they are guaranteed to top Group K, with Southampton sitting second, level with Hapoel Be'er Sheva ahead of a meeting between the two in the final round of matches.

The Israeli side came from two down to beat Inter Milan 3-2, which eliminated the Italian giants and set-up a qualification decider at St Mary's in a fortnight, where a victory or a 0-0 draw will take Southampton through.
