Southampton conceded defeat following their unpopular appointment of Nathan Jones, sacking him after just 14 games and three months in charge.
Jones’s dismissal was confirmed on Sunday morning, the decision being made following a 2-1 defeat to 10-man Wolves a day earlier, making his permanent managerial reign the shortest in Southampton‘s history.
Jones won just one of his eight league games in charge, losing the other seven, though did help steer them into the EFL Cup semi-finals and fifth round of the FA Cup.
Coach Ruben Selles will take charge of training ahead of Southampton’s visit to Chelsea on Saturday and are they now looking for their third manager of the season.
