Southampton striker Sam Gallagher has earned a pay-rise by joining Birmingham City on loan, Sportsmail can reveal.
The 21-year-old was so sought after by Championship clubs that Birmingham committed to paying him £30,000 per week, an increase of £8,000 from his deal at St Mary’s.
Harry Redknapp had been left frustrated in the transfer market before signing Gallagher as well as Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall on Monday.
Persuading Gallagher to relocate to St Andrew's was a major coup for Redknapp's side.
