Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino has admitted his side are still searching for their identity.

The Saints chase back-to-back wins for the first time this season at south-coast rivals Brighton on Sunday and the former Alaves boss told a press conference he needs more time.

"We are looking for an identity," said the Argentinian, who was installed as Claude Puel's replacement in June.

"We have played nine games in the Premier League. It's not too much when you think about the evolution of the team.

"In modern football, nine games, you can write a lot of history about that, but nine games in the history of the club is nothing.
