Southampton have opened talks with Spartak Moscow over a loan deal for centre-back Serdar Tasci.
The 29-year-old former Germany international is ready to fly in this weekend.
Southampton are looking to cover the departure of Jose Fonte and the injured Virgil van Dijk who is out for three months.
Tasci's most recent loan was to Bayern Munich from the Russian side who are currently five points clear at the summit of the Russian Premier League.
