Joshua King is in line for a deadline day move from Bournemouth to Southampton with Shane Long heading in the other direction.
King has been linked with a move away from the Cherries for some time and is understood to be edging close to an exit.
According to the Athletic, the Norwegian striker's club engaged in talks with Saints about the move over the weekend.
