Southampton are close to signing Poland Under 21 international defender Jan Bednarek for £5.7million.
The Lech Poznan centre-back flew to England on Tuesday with his agent ahead of a medical.
The 21-year-old, who was sent off against England U21s last week, will become Mauricio Pellegrino's first signing after rejecting interest from Hannover and Freiburg.

Bednarek played 34 times in all competitions for Poznan and is widely considered to be a future senior international of the future.
His arrival, however, will not spell the departure of Virgil van Dijk even though he continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.
