Mark Hughes has admitted Southampton’s focus will return to the Premier League despite securing a place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Despite a nervy performance at the DW Stadium on Sunday, the Saints overcame Wigan 2-0 thanks to goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Cedric.
And Hughes, who took over from Mauricio Pellegrino earlier this month, has admitted they must take the feel-good factor of the win into their Premier Legaue form.
He said: “Clearly there’s been a lack of confidence in the group, it’s been a poor period for them in terms of results so we had to change that round today.
