Southampton 2-0 Norwich: Saints continue their march up the Premier League table with a well-deserved victory over the struggling visitors thanks to Che Adams's scrambled opener and Oriol Romeu's sizzling late strike

Southampton moved into ninth place with a win over Premier League strugglers Norwich at St Mary's on Friday night.

Saints dominated possession but struggled to find the net in the first half until Che Adams finally opened the scoring in the 36th minute. The forward scooped the ball into the net from a sitting position after a goalmouth scramble.

The second half saw a flurry of chances for Southampton to double their lead but they struggled to put them away as Norwich clung on to keep the deficit to one.

However, Oriol Romeu struck late on with a sizzler of a strike to prove the home side with a long-awaited second.
