Romeo Lavia has rejected Liverpool in favour of securing a move to Chelsea in another huge blow to Jurgen Klopp's transfer plans, according to reports.
The Southampton midfielder has been intensely pursued by both clubs during the summer, but has chosen to join Chelsea in a deal worth roughly £50m, as reported by the Athletic.
It was previously believed that Liverpool had won the race for the midfielders signature after agreeing a £60m fee with Southampton, £10m over the south coast side's asking price.
However, Lavia appears to be in charge of his own future and prefers a move to London and Stamford Bridge rather than Liverpool.
