Ralph Hasenhuttl is 'a serious contender to succeed Frank Lampard at Everton' with the ex-Southampton boss being considered if a deal for Farhad Moshiri's No 1 target Marcelo Bielsa should prove too difficult

Ralph Hasenhuttl has emerged as a contender to take over the vacant Everton manager job according to reports.

The former Southampton boss is thought to be a serious contender for the position at Goodison Park according to Sky Sports, although ex-Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa is still believed to be the 'No 1 choice' of owner Farhad Moshiri.

Frank Lampard was sacked as Everton boss on Monday, with the club stuck in the relegation zone, and the club already held talks with Bielsa over taking over, although it would appear there is still a chance for the Austrian.
