Nottingham Forest 3-2 Southampton: Hosts extend unbeaten run to nine games after Nuno Espirito Santo's side hold off Saints' second-half rally

Nottingham Forest extended their dominant run in the league, now undefeated in nine, after holding on to beat Southampton 3-2 at the City Ground.

The hosts opened the scoring after just 11 minutes when Elliot Anderson found the back of the net from long range.

They doubled their lead in the 28th minute, from outside of the box again, with Callum Hudson-Odoi netting his fourth Premier League goal this season. Wood continued his burning form, making it three before half-time.

The Saints responded in the second half, denying Forest their 10th clean sheet in the league this season, when Jan Bednarek scored for the visitors in the 60th minute.
