Former Southampton boss Nathan Jones stunned fans when he was spotted playing in the Dorset Football League on Saturday.
The Welshman was sacked by the Saints following seven defeats in eight Premier League matches after succeeding Ralph Hasenhuttl.
His final game in charge was the 2-1 defeat by Wolves, leaving the Saints bottom of the Premier League.
But Jones, aged 49, made a swift return to action by playing for Cranborne FC in the Dorset Division One.
Jones, who played professionally until he was 39, helped set up the first goal in a 4-0 win at Wareham Rangers.
