Leganes want to make former Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino their new manager.
Pellegrino was hired by Southampton last summer after working wonders at Alaves.
However, the former Liverpool defender was shown the door by Saints in March after earning one win from his final 17 matches.
That stint has dented the 46-year-old’s reputation but, according to AS, he could be about to get back on the management horse.
Leganes reportedly want to hire Pellegrino now and talks are set to take place before the weekend.
Pellegrino is currently in Spain and he is the frontrunner for the job, although Numancia boss Jagoba Arrasate is being considered too.
