Javier Mascherano, Diego Forlan and other famous first goals

Nearly seven years after leaving Liverpool for Barcelona, Javier Mascherano has finally scored his first goal for the Camp Nou club.

Leading 5-1 against Osasuna, Barca won a penalty when Luis Suarez was fouled inside the area. Mascherano was handed the chance to break his duck, and he did so with aplomb.

The Argentina star took the spot kick in the most emphatic way possible, thundering a finish into the back of the net. It was his first goal, in his 319th match for the Catalan side.

To honour Mascherano, talkSPORT take a look at other famous first goals which came after droughts in front of the net.
