Newcastle United have suffered a hammer blow after goalkeeper Martin Dubravka was ruled out for the rest of the month with a knee injury.
The Slovakian shot stopper picked up a knock from Saints' striker Danny Ings just before the hour mark in Saturday's Premier League win at Southampton.
He played on and delivered Steve Bruce's side a ninth clean sheet of the season, but got the bad news after an assessment on Monday.
The 31-year-old, who has not missed a Premier League match since his debut in February 2018, has been ruled out for at least six matches.
