Fulham suffered a huge blow in their bid to earn Premier League safety as a last-gasp Adama Traore strike gave Wolves a first win in five matches at Craven Cottage on Friday.
Just when the hosts thought they had done enough to close the gap on fourth-bottom Newcastle, Traore burst into the penalty area on the right with seconds of injury time remaining and fired a thunderous winner.
That kept Fulham three points behind the Magpies, while Wolves leapfrogged Southampton and Crystal Palace, rising to 12th.
Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo was left fuming at a VAR decision that denied Willian Jose his first goal for the club in an otherwise uneventful first half.
