Former football coach Bob Higgins has been charged with 65 offences following a child sex abuse investigation.
Higgins, 64, was a successful coach and scout at Southampton in the 1980s, when the club was known for producing some of the best players in the league.
After leaving Southampton, Higgins went on to coach at Peterborough, Bashley FC and Fleet Town FC.
Hampshire Police today revealed he has been charged with 65 counts of indecent assault and will appear in court later this month.
A police spokesman said: 'Detectives have charged a man in connection with an investigation into non-recent child abuse within the footballing community.
