Les Reed will be replaced by his assistant John McDermott when he leaves his role as Football Association technical director at the end of the year, news first revealed by Sportsmail in April.
Former Southampton chief Reed returned to the FA to replace then technical director Dan Ashworth in February 2019.
He will be replaced by former Tottenham coach McDermott, who joined in March, at the start of 2021.
'I am confident we have put in place the right framework to give us every chance of winning a major tournament in the next four years,' Reed said confirming his departure.
