Everton press on with £72m transfer spree... while Manchester City aim to raise £100m in summer clear out

Everton have discussed a possible £16million deal for M'Baye Niang during their meeting in Milan.

Niang has stipulated he does not wish to stay at Watford following his loan there though the Vicarage Road club retain the option to buy him.

Everton director of football Steve Walsh is a fan of the 22-year-old French forward having tried to sign him for Leicester in January 2016. Niang had a trial at Everton in 2012 prior to his move to AC Milan from Caen. He also trained with Tottenham and Arsenal ahead of choosing Italy where he failed to make a significant impact.
