Everton have asked about Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu.
The 21-year old centre back has a £10.8million release clause and has also drawn enquiries from Southampton and Manchester United.
Rennes had agreed to pay his clause but the Ghanaian is holding out for a Premier League club.
Everton have also discussed potential moves for Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo and Gabriel Magalhaes of Lille.
