England’s return to Test cricket moved a big step closer on Monday night when all the West Indies players and reserves selected to travel for a three-match series tested negative for coronavirus.
The 14-man squad with 11 back-up players were all flying to Antigua after being given the all-clear where a charter flight paid for by ECB and heading to Manchester was due to leave late on Monday night.
The tourists will head straight to Emirates Old Trafford on Tuesday where they will spend three weeks at the on-site Hilton Garden Hotel, initially in quarantine and then in a training camp, before travelling to Southampton for the first Test at the Ageas Bowl on July 8.
