Argentina claim Alejandro Garnacho is 'very happy' to be part of the national team set-up despite his links to Spain, after the Man United star missed out on his senior debut for the world champions through injury

Argentina are confident of securing Alejandro Garnacho's international allegiance despite Manchester United's rising star being ruled out of their upcoming matches through injury.

The 18-year-old winger was handed his first call up to the Argentina senior squad earlier this month, following a series of impressive displays for Man United.

Garnacho was forced to withdraw from the squad after sustaining an ankle injury in the Red Devils goalless draw with Southampton.

The teenager is eligible to represent Spain having been born in Madrid, with the winger having played three matches for their under-18 side in 2021.
