When the United States needed her scoring prowess the most Monday morning, USF's Courtney Williams came up golden.
Playing for the U.S. national women's basketball team in the finals of the World University Games in Giwangju, South Korea, the senior-to-be overcame an 0-for-8 stretch from the floor in the first half, scoring all 15 of her points in the final 20 minutes to help lift the Americans to an 82-63 triumph over Canada to capture the gold medal.
Williams, who averaged 20.3 points and 7.5 rebounds while starting all 35 games during the Bulls' run to the NCAA Tournament last season, also grabbed 10 boards for her second straight double double.
