While their former teammates were sweating through their home opener, several former USF football players were sweating through the NFL’s roster cutdown day. This year the league decided to do cuts all at once, instead of the two-stage process that had been used before. All 32 teams had to get from 90 players to 53 by Saturday afternoon.
Marlon Mack’s spot on the Indianapolis Colts’ roster was never really in jeopardy. Drafted in the fourth round and with very little competition on the roster, all Mack had to do was not screw up and he’d make the team.
