South Florida defensive back Hassan Childs has been dismissed from the team after his arrest for a road rage incident that resulted in him being shot three times, coach Charlie Strong said Tuesday.
"I had a chance to speak with him," Strong said, according to the Tampa Bay Times. "They all want to continue and go play, and he was a senior, but he totally understood."
Strong discussed Childs' arrest with his team on Sunday.
"When you look at this university and how great an institution it is, and the football program, it is a privilege to represent this program," Strong said, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
