USF women’s soccer senior striker Evelyne Viens scored two quick goals in the second half of the American Athletic Conference tournament final to give the Bulls a 2-0 win over Memphis. This is USF’s second AAC tournament title in three years, and third straight appearance in the final over the same span.
The Bulls controlled the play from the start, playing most of the game on the Memphis half of the field, firing 14 shots at Tigers’ keeper Elisabeth Moberg with eight of them on frame.
The Tigers didn’t register their first shot until the 50th minute, thanks in large part to stifling defense from the Bulls and aggressive goal keeping from Sydney Martinez to attack any ball in the final third of the pitch.
