Following losses to Creighton and Virginia in the Florida Sunshine Classic before the holiday break, the USF women’s basketball team returned to action on Sunday afternoon with a 78-49 beatdown at the hands of the LSU Lady Tigers in Baton Rouge.
The Bulls (9-5) couldn’t overcome a 21-0 first quarter deficit and turned it over a season-high 27 times in their final nonconference contest of the year.
Trailing 50-16 at the half, USF shot 32% (17-for-53) from the floor and just 29% (6-for-21) from three-point range.
Redhirt sophomore Enna Pehadzic led all scorers with 12 points and four rebounds while senior Laura Ferreira finished with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block.
