TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 1, 2022 – Two University of South Florida track and field student-athletes are going to compete for their respective countries at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. will jump for Jamaica in the high jump, while Hannnah Connell will run for Barbados in the 100-meter hurdles.
Beckford (Portland, Jamaica) starts his competition at 2:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday (Aug. 2) in the qualification round of the high jump. The final round will be on Wednesday (Aug. 3) at 2 p.m. ET.
Beckford, a two-time All-American at USF in the high jump, finished his 2022 seasons by winning the American Athletic Conference individual championships and competing at the NCAA Championships in both the indoor and outdoor high jump.
