Sophomore ace Georgina Corrick turned in a dazzling pitching performance for USF softball, one-hitting the ninth-ranked Florida Gators on Wednesday, but the Bulls were also one-hit and dropped the midweek contest 1-0.
Corrick (16-3, 1.10 ERA) had a no-hitter going through five innings before Cheyenne Lindsey (.200 BA) singled to third in the bottom of the sixth innings to begin the Gators rally. UF loaded the bases with one out and scored the lone run of the game on a sac fly to center. They loaded the bases again before a line out Corrick ended the inning.
The Bulls (29-15, 7-2 AAC) got a lead-off walk in the second inning from Bethaney Keen, but left her stranded after a strikeout and two pop outs ended any chance.
