USF Softball Falls Short Against No. 22 Michigan

TAMPA, FLA., February 7, 2025- The University of South Florida softball team fell to the No. 22-ranked Michigan Wolverines, 1-0, on Friday night for their first loss of the season at the USF Softball Stadium.

First-year pitcher earned the first start of her career. The Sanford native pitched 4.1 innings and struck out four batters. Long pitched 4 scoreless innings before the Wolverines scored the lone run of the game.

The Wolverines scored after a walk, a Bulls' error, a single, and a groundout. Redshirt junior pitched 2.2 hitless innings, striking out two.
