Carroll will receive $10,000 in scholarship money to help fund her education which will begin this fall as a freshman on USF’s track and field team. The award, named the Sullivan Award, is given annually to one male and one female who shows outstanding athletic abilities, leadership skills, a diversity in their activities and service, sportsmanship and strength of character, not only in their sport, but in their community.
Carroll was the runner-up at this year’s 1A-2A state championship after winning state her sophomore and junior seasons for Tampa Catholic. She holds a personal best of 13-1.
