USF Knocked Out of AAC Tournament in First Round, Fall 77-66 to UConn

Despite a lot of heart in a tough environment, the University of South Florida Bulls were eliminated in the American Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday night. The University of Connecticut Huskies, behind a career-high 30 point game by senior guard Rodney Purvis, battled their way to a 77-66 victory over the Bulls.

USF started the game with its 15th attempt at a successful starting lineup. UConn started the game on a 9-0 run. After three turnovers in four possessions, a missed dunk, and giving up a steal and layup to Purvis, USF head coach Murry Bartow called timeout.
